Visual-Auditory-Kinesthetic (VAK)
The Visual-Auditory-Kinesthetic (VAK) learning styles model simplifies the explanation and understanding of learning styles.
The VAK learning Style determines a person's dominant or preferred learning style by utilizing the three main sensory receivers (Vision, Auditory, and Kinesthetic).
According to Permana, R. I., Amry, Z., & Mulyono. (2020) Individual learning styles are categorized by the brain's ability to absorb, manage, and convey information. Visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles have certain behavioral traits. This categorization doesn't mean each person only has one learning style characteristic and not another. This categorization is a guideline that each person has one of the most prominent characteristics, so if he gets an appropriate stimulus in learning it will be easier to absorb the lesson. If a person finds a learning method that fits his learning style, he will succeed quickly.
When questions differ from examples, students have trouble learning math. Students will struggle if the problem differs from the example given. Students have trouble solving story problems. Teachers usually use lecture and discussion without considering student learning styles. The teacher must recognize the student's visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles at the beginning of the learning process.
