Fun Math for Teachers and Students

Mathematics may not teach us how to add love or minus hate but it gives us every reason to hope that every problem has a solution.

Purpose of this website.

Everyone requires the ability to use mathematics to travel, use money, and keep track of time. Math is thus an important skill for students to learn in school. Unfortunately, many children and adults become stressed and anxious about math. When people are confronted with math-related situations, they experience math anxiety. According to the research paper by Karimi and Venkatesan (2009), "students with high Mathematics Anxiety tended to get lower scores in Mathematics and Overall Academic Performances." (Venkatesan and Karimi, 2009, p.560). Many people suffer from math anxiety, which has been linked to poor math performance in school and later in life. An in-depth examination of the relationship between math anxiety and math achievement, according to Lau et al., (2022), indicates that math anxiety is detrimental to performance in many school-related math skills, such as problem-solving, simple arithmetic, and basic number processing.

The most widely accepted explanation for these associations holds that math anxiety impairs math performance by compromising the cognitive resources required for success in math (Lau et al., 2022). In my experience, as a result of working with many of my colleagues in the school community, they dislike teaching math. My close friends want to be teachers but are hampered by math anxiety, which causes them to cry when they come to do math problems. Researchers have looked into how math anxiety develops, what happens in the brain when people have it, and how to best help those who have it. As a result, I'd like to work on my project in the following course, which is to create a website that can help and support students, teachers, educators, or parents who have math anxiety to feel at ease when faced with a math problem or to be able to teach math without fear. I discovered that Math is a lot of fun, and I want my colleagues, friends, teachers, educators, and students to see Math as the beauty of life and succeed as a result.

  • It all begins with an idea. I want to create this website to support my colleagues, friends, families, and student to overcome their math anxiety. Maybe I want to turn a hobby of working with math problems into something more useful.

  • It all begins with the idea of reducing math anxiety. I want to launch my knowledge of technology to build this website.

  • It all begins with an idea. I want to create and link to many online other learning math websites to support all the needs of individual teachers/ students. I want to expand ideas into something more supportive for all users.

  • My idea of help all learning styles could participate and work on math problems without fear. Gain more confidence when they teach and learn Math.

A gentle reminder for those of us who feel pressured to make sure educational standards are met. In the process of ticking off boxes, we sometimes suck the joy out of Math, instead of realizing that it is a journey to enjoy.

Make it stand out.

As a casual employee with the Toronto District School Board, I get to visit various schools and classes, as well as meet a variety of teachers. I discovered that many of them dislike teaching or learning math unless they are forced to. I believe that a special website to support learning Math and reducing Math anxiety is necessary, as well as very useful and supportive for those who require it but do not want to seek help from others. They were willing to try and were able to overcome their obstacles in their own unique ways. I plan to use this website and introduce it to all of the teachers, principals, staff, and students who will require math instruction.

A passion for learning

It is not an odd occurrence. My enthusiasm for learning is a positive commitment that will help me progress through all levels of education. However, it appears that children are learning less and less in school. There are, however, individuals who share your passion, and it is easier than ever to engage with them and satisfy your passion for learning through a variety of internet resources, discussion groups, and books.

As an educator, I can say that during some of my years of teaching and learning, I witnessed a true passion for learning in fewer than a dozen individuals. Sadly, the majority of students I knew viewed education as something to be endured in order to obtain a degree, get a real job, start living, and stop learning already! This is a possible attitude you have encountered.

I have always regarded mathematics as a puzzle. I have never required a link to the real world. It has always been about patterns, relationships, and the question "What if...?"

In actuality, I am not very good at math. I had difficulty learning mathematics from first through fifth grade. It made absolutely no sense to me. I did not comprehend where the formulas originated, and it is difficult for me to remember them. Asked me a math problem that I hadn't solved recently... I would probably Google it. After sixth grade, however, I had an excellent teacher who explained and laid out steps by proving her formulas with math sentences. It fascinated me, and that was the moment when I realized how my mathematical knowledge could make sense of the world.

I'm just really good at simultaneously creative and logical thought. Which is an excellent substitute for having extensive knowledge.

I believe that none of us allow obstacles or difficulties to prevent us from pursuing our passions and interests. You are the direct beneficiary of your education, and your closest friends will also gain from it. Your learning will make you a better conversationalist, more empathetic, more engaging, more vibrant, and more profound person. Keep it up!

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about learning math. I enjoy imparting information to those interested in learning, particularly Math.
